Mental Math
The Mental Math Virtual Lab is an interactive educational simulation designed based on NCERT Class 6 Mathematics (Ganita Prakash), Chapter 3.8: Mental Math. Unlike traditional quizzes or worksheets, this application functions as a hands-on mathematics discovery lab. Students learn by experimenting with number blocks, observing patterns, trying different combinations, and receiving meaningful visual and textual feedback.
The core philosophy is learning through exploration. The simulation encourages students to discover concepts independently—such as understanding number composition, exploring addition and subtraction flexibly, finding multiple ways to form the same number, and discovering why certain numbers are impossible to construct. There are no penalties for incorrect attempts; instead, the system provides encouraging, progressive hints and guiding questions to foster mathematical reasoning and confidence.
